The riding centre at Gwydyr Stables, Ty Coch Farm was established in 1973 and offers a wonderful location for horse riding, pony trekking or extended trail rides.

We are situated 4 miles from Betws y Coed and surrounded by National Trust and Forestry Commission land. It provides breath taking scenery in which to enjoy the excellent views across to the Mountains of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia).

Individuals or groups are catered for by a team of experienced staff conducting rides on a variety of over 30 horses that range in size and ability from novice treks to experienced rides. The staff have to undergo continuous development especially on safety issues including first aid and riding qualifications. Radio contact is maintained with the centre during treks.

Riding hats are provided
Riding footwear or suitable boots with a heel are recommended with Jodhpurs, breeches or trousers without an inseam.
A small rucksack is useful to carry waterproofs, spare warm clothing, lunches and a flask on the longer rides.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Me and my partner came here this morning for a 2 hour Trek and my goodness was the best 2 hours and £50 I’d ever spent. The staff were beyond lovely and were so friendly and welcoming from the beginning to when we left. I was on Mateo and my partner was on Sam (ironically because his name was Sam). We had plenty of opportunities to canter along the tracks and the girl who took us was amazing and so friendly telling us all about the other animals on the yard and always checking to make sure that we were okay. The views were super and the horses are so well trained. Even though me and my partner are more experienced riders the horses felt so safe and well behaved that I’d recommend it to anyone no matter the level. There isn’t a doubt that we will be back the next time we are in north wales!

The lady who was with was great with the kids taking to them answering any questions they had! Nothing was to much. I would definitely go back. Just went out with my partner so had plenty of canters. Winnie schools and trains the horses and ponies herself, so they are safe and responsive. I will definitely be back on this week's holiday and hopefully return here again soon.
